The Story

Two lovers suffer under a longtime curse of separation: one is doomed to immortality, an eternity of remembering and waiting for the other, who is endlessly reincarnated with no memories of the past. They reunite once again on a cold and rainy night.

TIOT was inspired by a walk through the Cimetière de Montmartre in Paris in mid-2014. The sight of the gothic sepulchres in the early morning mist was impressive (in every sense of the word) to my young American eyes. I wrote, edited, submitted, and sold this story all within 6 months of that day.
